The award (named after the founder of Rotary) is a symbol of the high regard in which the recipient is held by fellow Rotarians, and is one rarely bestowed in the Crookwell Club.
In announcing the award Rotarian Brian Dennis said it not only recognised Gordon's 32 years of outstanding service to Rotary, but also his contribution as a much loved teacher at Rugby, Kialla and Crookwell Public Schools, and as an active member of the then highly effective Crookwell Apex Club.
Gordon has served on the Board of the Rotary Club on a dozen occasions, including the offices of President and Secretary.
"Apart from this, Gordon is among our most consistent and cheerful workers.
"It would be safe to say that no-one in the history of the Crookwell Rotary Club has given more time at our myriad functions than Gordon Schliebs."
Mr. Dennis also paid tribute to the "patience, forbearance and active help" provided to Gordon by his wife Keryn, who deserved to share in the award.
The award was greeted with prolonged applause, as the emblems of the Paul Harris Fellowship were presented to Gordon by District Governor Bernie Rogers.
In expressing thanks for the award, Gordon said he had enjoyed the fellowship of Rotary and the opportunity to help in its work for the community.
He added this thanks to Keryn for her support and help.
